Book Club for Actors'
As an actor, it is essential to have a well-rounded knowledge of plays, playwrights, styles and genres. Not only does it allow you to be more prepared for auditions, it also keeps you in touch with the current theatre scene—one that is steeped in important, and often-referred to history, but is also forever expanding.
Welcome to the Art & Soul Acting Book Club for Actors': a book club that focuses on plays. Each meeting has a single focal point that is central to the understanding of theatre: a particular author, genre, time period or theme, etc. Members emerge with a deep knowledge of the material and its relevance to acting and theatre.
Participants will have profound encounters with influential playwrights and landmark plays. They will develop a deep understanding of all aspects of the works including stories, themes, and character break-downs: an amazing resource during a busy audition season.

WHERE: Location address will be listed within the confirmation e-mail...please RSVP below
WHAT: Please see the list of plays below. So all participants can be on the same page with at least one play, please start by reading the one marked with an asterisk (*). After that, feel free to read any of the other plays that are on the list. My suggestion is to choose at least 3-4 to read and make them ones that you don't already know... and, of course, feel free to read as many plays as you wish! Be ready to share what you have discovered about this amazing playwright so we can all learn and grow together. Looking forward to it!
